All,
I know as military members we are insulated from the day to day business/economy issues. Read the letter below as a GM Dealership in the Houston Tx area seems to be getting axed even though they have been serving the community over 70 years. Please let GM know how the military feels about this by signing the petition!

Dear Friends, As many of you already know, in May of this year, Knapp Chevrolet (my father in law’s business) in downtown Houston received a letter from GM stating that our dealership is being considered for termination. I have reached out to a wider business network because I know you will understand the impact of forcefully shutting down a profitable business, terminating over 80 jobs in the community and destroying a family’s legacy and livelihood. GM is listening and it will these signatures from successful members of society like you that will hopefully get GM to reverse their position. We have started a website www.saveknappchevy.com and are now asking everyone, including those who have already sent emails on our behalf, to log on to this web site and sign our petition. Because several dealers have attributed their success in overcoming their termination to a massive outpouring of support from their communities, we hope to get 100,000 people to sign our petition. Our appeal to GM is still being processed. As GM is currently evaluating our status, we believe this effort will tip the scales in our favor, and save Knapp Chevy!
- Knapp Chevrolet has successfully operated in the same location for over 70 years.
- Ours is a business with a reputation for both ethical practices and great customer service.
- We are profitable.
- We have over 80 employees whose families depend on us.
- Knapp Chevrolet sold over 1000 new Chevrolet’s in 2008.
- We have a great location for those who live or work in or near downtown. GM is not in favor of keeping locations near downtown and need to hear why a dealership such as ours serves customer’s needs better than a suburban dealership.
- The downtown and mid town areas are experiencing unprecedented growth and expansion which have added thousands of new residents.
- Knapp Chevrolet has contributed thousands of dollars to Houston annually, through both community donations and tax revenue.
When you log on to www.saveknappchevy.com, please click the link to sign our petition. It’s next to Snappy, the alligator. There is a section for comments; they are not required, but we would appreciate any comments you would care to make. Our goal is 100,000 names - the number of cars we have sold since Bobby’s grandfather and his brothers opened their doors here! We need you and every friend and family member to sign our petition and show the support that the Knapp Chevy family has around our city, state, and nation, so please help us by forwarding the link: www.saveknappchevy.com !!! Thank you again for your continued support,
Much love and thanks!!!
